HOW TO GET TO the black box theatre - TIP's INDOOR Theater

Our intimate black box theater is located inside the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center at 8788 Metcalf Avenue
in Overland Park, Kansas. There are many restaurants, hotels and amenities located nearby.

INDOOR tickets are SHOW SPECIFIC AND not valid for OUTDOOR productions.

  • Tickets prices for INDOOR productions vary depending on the show. Visit our BOX OFFICE page for detailed information.

  • No matter of age, everyone requires a ticket to see an INDOOR performance. 
    Children under the age of two will not be allowed in the theater.  EXCEPTION:  SEUSSICAL - All ages permitted. Children 2 and under do not require a ticket as long as they will be seated in a lap for the entirety of the performance.  If you would like a chair for your child (2 and under), please purchase a Youth Ticket.

  • No matter of age, everyone requires a ticket to see an INDOOR performance.

  • Visit the web page of any INDOOR production for information on age-appropriateness.

  • All indoor tickets must be used during the current INDOOR season.

  • You may also CHANGE your reservation for reserved chairs up until show time, but are non-transferrable after curtain time.

  • Sorry, pets are not allowed in the Arts and Heritage Center or in the theater (service animals accepted, of course.)

  • Smoking is PROHIBITED inside the Arts and Heritage Center; this includes vaping and e-cigarette use. 

  • There is a designated smoking areas outside the front doors of the Arts and Heritage Center.

  • No flash photography.

  • Videotaping any performance is STRICTLY prohibited by our royalty contracts.

  • Please turn your phones to silent mode before the performance begins.

  • Only cast, crew and staff are allowed backstage.

  • You can visit with the cast in the Creative Commons after the performance.

  • Basic first aid supplies and AED are located at the front desk.

  • Hearing assist devices are available at the front desk.

INDOOR Cancellation Policy

Cancellation of an INDOOR performance is rare.  Check the Theatre in the Park homepage and our FaceBook page the day of the performance for cancellation notifications.  Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm.  Phone calls received after hours will be returned the following business day. If for some reason a performance would need to be cancelled, we will give you the optioin of choosing a different performance, or receiving a refund.
