READ ALL ABOUT IT
“Always…Patsy Cline” is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer who died tragically at age 30 in a plane crash in 1963. The show is based on a true story about Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in l961, and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death.
Currently seeking performers for all roles in Always...Patsy Cline. READ MORE
A Special Note from Donna Knoell, CHAIR, Theatre Advisory Council.
Dear Friends and Fans of
Theatre in the Park,
On behalf of the Theatre Advisory Council, I want to thank each of you for your support and attendance throughout this terrific summer season of extraordinary, live theater! And what a great season of theater we have had! Theatre in the Park has provided all of us with terrific song, dance, acting, and totally wonderful performances, all summer long!! No wonder I see the Theatre in the Park as the “Crown Jewel” of the County!
Theatre in the Park is such an amazing place, where so many individuals get the opportunity to explore, develop, and share their talents. This is true for so very many young and adult performers, all of whom make the theatre experience such a joy for each of us in the audience! And we too often forget the hours that each performer and participant gives, to make “magic” happen before our eyes! They give their time to practice and perform, so that exceptional theater can be made available to the entire metro community! And for this, we should all grateful!
In addition to terrific performances this summer, there has also been a wonderful, new program that has offered a terrific opportunity for theatre professionals at the beginning of their careers. The Emerging Theatre Professional Initiative has given these emerging professionals the opportunity to train and develop their leadership skills and production skills, as they have also created exceptional theatre ‘art’ for us. These fortunate and talented emerging professionals have worked side by side with professionals from both the Theatre in the Park (Spongebob) and also The White Theatre at the J (Matilda), working collaboratively, to create extraordinary theatre for our community, as they have also developed their talents and professional skills. We are grateful that this opportunity has been offered to these talented individuals, and we are also grateful and appreciative of the creative and professional work that both the emerging professionals and their mentors have shared with us.
Theatre in the Park is not only an amazing venue for each of us to come enjoy outstanding musical theatre, but it is also a truly amazing creative place and experience, where a large number of ‘on stage’ performers, extraordinary musicians who comprise the orchestras for each show, and the set, stage, lighting and music crews practice, learn, perform and share their talents with the entire community! For this I offer a gigantic “thank you” to each of them!
Once again, thank you to each of you who support and enjoy this wonderful theatre! We look forward to your continued support and enjoyment in the future, and hope to see you INDOOR at "Always... Patsy Cline" and "Seussical, the musical" later this year.
