Job Description/Functions:
|
Provide leadership to the Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s The Theatre in the Park. Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of one full-time regular, one part-time regular, and dozens of seasonal employees. Manage the activities of hundreds of volunteers for productions that will provide quality entertainment for the community. Develop and monitor a budget of more than $700,000, evaluating revenues and expenditures to ensure financial sustainability. Actively generate community support through marketing efforts and the development of community partnerships. Solicit corporate sponsors, seek grant funding and obtain foundation support to provide revenues to supplement those generated through ticket sales. Work closely with and provide leadership to a 10-member Theatre Council, who provides advisory support and advocacy for the Theatre. Work with businesses and vendors to obtain materials, equipment, and technology necessary for the successful operation of The Theatre in the Park.

Qualifications/Requirements:
|
Bachelors degree preferred in Theatre Management or related field. Relevant and equivalent experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Three or more years experience in a leadership role, preferable in community or professional theatre or related field. Experience should include staff management, fundraising and budget development and oversight. Experience in managing a volunteer-driven organization, and experience in theater facility management is a plus. Success results in fundraising and sponsorship solicitation desired.
